Badshah’s team called the allegations “defamatory”,

New Delhi:

Rapper Badshah on Wednesday clarified that he was neither driving nor was he in a Thar vehicle, on the day he was fined Rs 15,000 for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road, playing loud music and rash driving.

“Neither do I have a Thar, nor was I driving that day. I was being driven in a white Vellfire and we always drive responsibly,” he said in a story on Instagram.

Badshah gave a surprise performance at singer-songwriter Karan Kaujla’s concert in Gurugram on December 15.

Videos that went viral showed a Mahindra Thar, allegedly part of Badshah’s convoy, speeding on the wrong side of the road amid heavy traffic. Later, news agency PTI reported that the Thar was registered in the name of Deepender Malik, a resident of Panipat.

Soon after the incident, Badshah’s team called the allegations “defamatory”. “We are issuing this statement to address recent defamatory reports and false accusations regarding a traffic incident involving Badshah following the Karan Aujla concert on December 15th, 2024, in the Delhi NCR region. These reports allege that Badshah was involved in a traffic violation, specifically driving on the wrong side of the road. We want to unequivocally state that this allegation is completely false,” the statement read.

The team further stated that “no fine was levied” on any vehicle associated with the rapper and his team, according to ANI. “We have complete confidence in our transportation provider and their professionally licensed drivers,” the statement added.

During the encounter, both the accused were injured after being shot in the leg.

Two people, allegedly involved in the crude bomb blast outside singer and rapper Badshah’s club in Chandigarh, were arrested on Friday evening following an encounter in Haryana’s Hisar district. The encounter took place during a joint operation by the Chandigarh police and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF).

During the encounter, both the accused were injured after being shot in the leg. Subsequently, they were arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment, officials said.

The accused have been identified as Vinay (20) and Ajit Sehrawat (21), both of whom are residents of Hisar.

Both the accused have been involved in one criminal case previously, the police said.

“On November 29, we received a specific input that both accused are in Hisar. A team of Chandigarh Police immediately rushed to the spot. On reaching the spot with Haryana STF Hisar, the accused were asked to surrender but they did not listen. They opened fire on the police and in self-defence, the Chandigarh police and STF also exchanged fire,” the Chandigarh police said in a statement.

According to the police, two officials – Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Anoop – were shot at but were saved due to bullet-proof jackets.

On November 26, two explosions occurred outside two clubs in Chandigarh – the Seville Bar and Lounge, owned by singer and rapper Badshah, and De Orra Club, owned by local businessmen. CCTV footage of the explosions showed a man throwing crude bombs at the clubs before running away. The explosions shattered the establishments’ glass windows.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Hours after the incident, Goldy Brar, a Canada-based terrorist linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the blast in a purported Facebook post.

The post, which could not be verified by NDTV, said that Brar and another member of the gang, Rohit Godara, were responsible for the two explosions. It added that the two club owners were contacted via phone for “protection money”, but they did not respond. Following this, the explosions were carried out to send a message that whoever ignores such calls may face consequences, it added.

Visuals from the incident site showed shattered window panes.

Two explosions occurred outside two clubs in Chandigarh on Monday night, with the police suspecting it a case of attempted extortion. According to officials, the blast took place in Sector 26 outside the Seville Bar and Lounge – owned by singer and rapper Badshah, and De Orra Club.

CCTV footage shows a man throwing what is suspected to be crude bombs at the clubs and running away.

Visuals from the incident site showed shattered window panes of the clubs due to the explosions.

No one was injured in the case.

Upon receiving the information, the Chandigarh police, along with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) reached the spot, officials said.

While the police are investigating the extortion angle, it is also suspected that there was a fight between the partners of the two clubs.

The police are investigating further angles, officials said.

Badshah opened the Seville restaurant in December last year, along with co-owning two other establishments – Sago Spicy Symphony and Sidera. The 39-year-old rapper sings songs in Hindi, English, Punjabi, and Haryanvi languages. He has also sung songs for some Bollywood films including ‘Kapoor and Sons’ and ‘Crew’.
