On Sunday, a comeback by a spinner consisting of Poonam Yadav and Sneh Rana helped India beat England by eight points in the second T20I game of a three-game series at Hofshire Stadium.
With this victory, India will remain in the series, if the visiting team wins the last game, the score will be leveled. England is currently leading the 86-round series and the tiebreaker will be played on Wednesday.
Chasing 149, England got off to a bad start as opening game Danni Wyatt (3) died in Arundhati Reddy’s second game. Soon after, Natalie Sciver (1) was eliminated in the third game and the England team was reduced to 2/31.
However, Tammy Beaumont continued her slaughter, so England scored 52/2 at the end of Powerplay.
Captain Heather Knight and Beaumont kept the score going, and the hosts needed 69 points in the last 10 games to win.
Knight and Beaumont invested 75 times for the third wicket, but this partnership ultimately ended in Game 14, because Beaumont (59 years old) was sent back to the showroom by Deepti Sharma.
Shortly after Knight (30) was fired, the England team’s score dropped to 106/4, they still need 43 runs to win.
