Indian captain Mithali Raj became the best runner in the women’s cricket system, beating former England captain Charlotte Edwards on Saturday. Mithali accomplished this feat in the third and final insignificant ODI against host England while chasing 220 for a consoling victory. The Talisman Indian hitter reached a milestone in Game 23 with the border close to Nat Schiver. Mithali is now the most prolific hitter in the world’s international women’s competition, surpassing Edwards’ 10,273 hits. Mithali achieved half a century undefeated, 75 not out, for the Indian women’s team to achieve its first victory in the current Tour of England.
Mithali’s punch helped the Indian team chase the 220-run goal with four wickets in a rainy encounter. Due to the rain, the game was reduced to 47over games. After the victory, Mitali said he wanted to stay in the middle and win the game for the team.
“I have never given up in the middle. This is in the middle because you can’t win the game on the bench. I want to win the game for the team, “Mithali said at the award ceremony after the game.
Mithali praised the young player Sneh Rahan and made a cameo for India to chase the edge of the rear
” We only need one. A good association that helps us overcome difficulties. I know I can control the game in midfield, but when you have young players, you have to guide them.
“I have enjoyed chasing. I wanted to be there and win the game for the team, I picked the bowlers to attack and along the way guided Sneh Rana. It is always good to have an all-rounder in the side, she (Sneh) has been phenomenonal for us throughout the series,” Mithali added.
Both teams will now face off in a three-match Twenty20 International series.
