Virat Kohli’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore was defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders in a nail biting cricket match yesterday. RCB’s remarkable IPL journey ended with a disappointing loss in the eliminators by 4 wickets against KKR in Sharjah. Virat Kohli’s RCB had a great chance to lift their maiden IPL trophy this year considering their marvelous performance in the 2021 season. The team won 9 out of total 15 matches it played in the tournament and was eliminated in the play-off’s.
Yesterday’s match marked the end of RCB’s IPL 2021 journey and Virat Kohli’s captaincy stint, which was on of the most-talked-about captaincy tenures in the IPL so far. On the bright side, Virat Kohli ended his stint with the most runs and centuries as captain in the IPL. The Indian skipper amassed 4871 runs as RCB captain with an average of 41.99. He has 5 centuries and 35 half centuries to his credit.
In his final match as the skipper of his franchise, Virat Kohli managed to score 39 runs. RCB put 138 runs on the scoreboard with loss of 7 wickets at the end of 20 overs in the first innings. Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand batted well in the second innings and emerged victorious at the end. KKR made 139 runs with loss of 6 wickets in 19.4 overs.

Speaking at the post match interview, Virat Kohli said that he has given his 120% to the franchise every time. “I have tried my best to create a culture where youngsters could come in and play with freedom and belief. It is something that I have done with India as well… I have given my 120% to this franchise every time, which is something I will now do as a player,” Kohli said.
