Kolkata Night Riders ropes in Tim Southee for the rest of the season of IPL 2021 as Pat Cummins opts out. RCB, PBKS and RR have also named their replacements apart from KKR. The second leg of IPL which is scheduled to start on September 19, in the UAE will bring a lot of new players along. Let us look at the players that are leaving and their subsequent replacements:
- Royal Challengers Bangalore has selected Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga to replace Adam Zampa and Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement for Daniel Sams. RCB has also got George Garton for Australian pacer Kane Richardson and Tim David for Finn Allen.
2. Rajasthan Royals roped in Tabraiz Shamsi in lieu of Andrew Tye and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips replaces Jofra Archer.
3. Punjab Kings get the Australian Pacer Nathan Ellis as a replacement for Riley Meredith and Adil Rashid will replace Jhye Richardson.
Multiple replacements have come to light in the past few days. COVID-19 and the upcoming T20 World Cup might be the possible reasons. The remaining matches of IPL 2021 will start from 3rd week of September according to an official statement released by BCCI.
