Before the limited series against host Sri Lanka on July 13, the Indian cricket team conducted their first training on Friday.
The Indian team selected the second volleyball team for the series together with the current test team in the UK. They arrived in Sri Lanka the next Monday and the players isolated them in their rooms for three days.
The team is led by senior hitter Shikhar Dhawan and coached by NCA boss Rahul Dravid. The
series is India’s last game before the T20 World Cup held from October to November. The team has up to 6 unrestricted players, including Chetan Sakariya, K Gowtham, Nitish Rana, Devdutt Padikkal, Varun Chakaravarth and Ruturaj Gaekwad.
This is also an important task for players such as Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Suryakumar Yadav, who hope to get a place in the World Cup squad.
India scored three ODI and T20I points.
