As the three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions begin preparations before the T20 league resumes on Thursday, the Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, began to compete at the ICC Academy in Dubai. After several players tested positive for the coronavirus in the bio bubble, the fourteenth edition of the IPL was postponed midway. The game will continue and the defending champion Mumbai Indians will face CSK in Dubai. “Huddle Hustle”, CSK captioned the team photo on Twitter.
CSK players had gathered in Chennai for a training camp earlier this month. Players including M.S. Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar and Robin Uthappa along with other members of the team arrived in Dubai om August 13.
CSK were second on the IPL 2021 points table with 10 points before the league was halted due to Covid – 19
CSK had won five out of seven matches and were behind of Delhi Capitals, who had twelve points out of eight matches.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians were at third and fourth position before the tournament was postponed.
CSK’s first match after the resume of IPL 2021 will be held on 19th September 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, against Mumbai Indians.
