On the occasion, while speaking to ANI, Shankar Mahadevan extended Vijayadashami greetings to everyone and said that he was privileged to be welcomed as a chief guest at the RSS Vijayadashami Utsav.

“I want to extend my greetings to everyone on the occasion of Vijayadashami. I am very honoured and privileged that I have been welcomed as a chief guest at this function. I want to thank the RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat and the entire Swayamsevak Sangh family…I am very excited to attend this program…” he told ANI.

The Vijayadashmi Utsav will also be addressed by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is a prominent Hindu festival celebrated every year at the end of Navaratri.

It is observed on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin, the seventh in the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar. The festival typically falls in the Gregorian calendar months of September and October.

The festival also starts the preparations for Diwali, the important festival of lights, which is celebrated twenty days after Vijayadashami.

The RSS was established on Vijaya Dashami in 1925 by Keshav Hedgewar.
