Kolkata: West Bengal stretched COVID-19 curbs in the state till August 15, while night curfew hours to continue between 9 PM to 5 AM except emergency and essential services.
The State Executive Committee of West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority suggested a further expansion of curbs measures as already operational with graded and calibrated approach to relaxations as needed after a review of the current situation of COVID pandemic.
Issuing a press release, the state government restated that it must always comply with the use of masks, the maintenance of physical distance, and health and hygiene procedures.
In the meantime, West Bengal had on July 14 expanded the ongoing curbs until July 30 in view doctors warning about a possible third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic by August or September. CM Mamata Banerjee had declared certain relaxations.
