Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday (August 29, 2021) documented seven more FIRs concerning the supposed savagery in West Bengal after the state Assembly decisions. With this, the total number of FIRs reached 28.
On Saturday, the central investigation agency lodged 10 more cases regarding the post-poll violence incidents.
The CBI detained two persons Biju and Aasima Ghosh for attacking BJP supporter Ayan Mondal and two others in Nadia province on May 14.
The CBI is performing the investigation on the order of the Calcutta High Court. The court had instructed the CBI to investigate all the rape and murder cases that supposedly occurred in West Bengal after state assembly elections.
Following this, the CBI orchestrated special squads to trial the post-poll violence in West Bengal.
