In a Jalpaiguri vaccination centre, people were harmed along with several women. A mob tried to enter the centre together prompting a stampede. Six people are undergoing treatment at Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital.
As per officers, local people rushed into the gate as the Dhupguri Health Centre opened, prompting a stampede-like situation. Many women were injured.
Local people reveal that due to the long queue, social distancing protocols have gone ignored.
AS per preliminary investigation, those who were in the queue rushed to enter the camp in the apprehension of a shortfall of antibody doses. The inoculation schedule at the facility has been prohibited following the event.
