Kolkata: In yet another hit on PM Modi over surging fuel prices, WB CM Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that he should talk ‘petrol and vaccine ki baat’ rather ‘Mann ki baat’.
The rebel West Bengal chief cooked heavily on the Modi government for “contaminating the country’s economy”.
Citing to the proposed Union Cabinet reshuffle, the Trinamool Congress supremo stated during a press meet that the shifting of Babul Supriyo from the Council of Ministers marks that “they (BJP government) have defeated it even before the arrival of their end” in 2024.
Noting that none of the letters she composed to the PM recalls any response, CM Mamata Banerjee said in spite of appeals for Jagdeep Dhankhar’s confiscation as governor, nothing was done about it.
“The entire economy is in crisis. Fuel prices are soaring every day and the Union government is sitting idle. Our prime minister is only occupied with his Mann ki Baat. He should instead chair petrol ki baat, diesel ki baat and vaccine ki baat,” she insisted.
Inquired about the opportunity of BJP MP John Barla’s entrance in the Union Ministry, weeks after he claimed a separate Union Territory for North Bengal, Banerjee said it will repeat the “divisive mindset” of the saffron party.
“I won’t remark on the ministry reshuffle. Will reshuffle end the burden of the people?” she questioned.
