New Delhi: A tribal man succumbed after he was beaten by eight persons. They tied him to a vehicle with a rope and dragged him some distance in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch region.
The incident happened on Thursday morning after a road accident involving the prey and a milkman who was riding a motorcycle. The victim is known as Kanhaiyalal Bheel, who succumbed during treatment at the Neemuch district hospital on Friday.
According to the police, Chhitar Mal Gurjar on his motorcycle knocked down Kanhaiyalal Bheel of Banda village. Gurjar, a milkman, got angry as his milk got split on the road.
Gurjar then called up his friends who assaulted Bheel, tied him to the rear side of a vehicle and dragged him for some distance.
A video surfaced of the incident, the police got into action but by then, the accused had escaped. Bheel was admitted to the district hospital where he succumbed on Friday. All the eight blamed were charged with sections 302 (Punishment for murder) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code and the SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act. Five accused have been captured.
As per SP, the motorcycle and two four-wheelers and a pick-up vehicle, and a nylon rope has been seized from the crime site.
