New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has lodged two charge sheets in WB post-poll violence cases. Marking that one charge sheet was lodged within nine days of taking over the trial, while the other was lodged in just six days.
The CBI has charged four people, Tuntun Chaudary, Chandan Singh, Lalan Singh, and Animesh Paul. Victims are accused of bombing at a house in North 24 Parganas district killing a man on June 6.
CBI registered the case on August 25.
The second charge sheet, filed by CBI on Thursday, regarded a body spotted in a paddy field in Nalhati in Birbhum district. The victim was a resident of a local village.
CBI said that the total cases related to post-poll violence in the state reached 34.
The agency registered a case on August 28. The CBI has charged two men – Mainuddin SK and Mohammed Imran – in the case.
CBI registered two recently murdered cases- each in South and North 24 Parganas. The victims were allegedly onslaught with sharp objects resulting in their deaths.
