Opposition Walkout On Parliament’s First Working Day After Deadlocked Week

Posted on December 3, 2024 By admin

Opposition members walked out of the Lok Sabha this morning on what would have been the first working day in the Winter Session after a deadlocked week.

The Congress also led a joint opposition protest in the parliament complex, but the absence of Samjawadi and Trinamool leaders put on display the rift in the opposition bloc over their parliament strategy.

“We make all efforts from our end to run the House because the public expects us to raise their voice here strongly. If the government wants to run the House, it will function. If they do not want that, then everyone knows what the conspiracy is. It is not our responsibility to run the House, those who are sitting on Chair and holding positions are responsible for doing this,” said Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury.

A discussion, meanwhile, is underway on Cyclone Fengal in Rajya Sabha. The cyclone made landfall near the Puducherry coasts two days, bringing heavy rainfall and inundating parts of Tamil Nadu.
