The Apex Court Thursday ordered states to protect minors, who lost one or both parents during the pandemic. Additionally sponsor their education for this current academic session. Protect them from child labour and illicit activities. A bench of justices L Nageswara Rao and Aniruddha Bose instructed to take care of these vulnerable children.
Most of these children may not have the means to fend for themselves. Its state’s responsibility to check the contagion covid 19 in children protection homes.
Private schools and state government will provide education free of cost to these vulnerable children for this academic session.The court ordered that benefits announced by the states should reach the needy children. The district magistrates will continue uploading the requisite information on the NCPCR Bala Swaraj’ portal.
Andhra Pradesh has detailed 326 orphans and 7110 minors who lost one parent in this pandemic. The Supreme Court ordered, these minors will continue schooling.
30,071 orphans detailed on Bal Swaraj Portal. 26,176 minors with one parent. 274 minors abondoned.
Organisations who are indulging in illicit adoptions of children orphaned during the pandemic will be prosecuted.
