SC passes verdict; Demolition of Twin Tower in Noida final.

Posted on August 31, 2021August 31, 2021 By Subrata Paul

Supertech, a real estate firm, constructed a 40-storey building in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. On 31st August 2021, Supreme Court declared its final verdict on the case and ordered demolition of the building. The firm had allegedly compromised several by-laws of construction while building the “Twin Tower”.

According to the courts verdict, Supertech violated some rules/laws while constructing the building. The company must raze the 40-storey building, containing close to a 1000 flats, at its own expense. “There is the collusion of Noida Authority and the real estate company, Supertech, while allowed construction of two additional towers in one of its Noida projects,” said the court.

The firm is also liable for the reimbursement to flat owners for their booking money with an additional 12 per cent interest. 2 months is the deadline for payment of reimbursements as per the order.
