The crime branch of Mumbai filed a 1500-page charge-sheet against Raj Kundra before the Mumbai court magistrate in Mumbai.
- Raj Kundra Earned Millions. Businessman Raj Kundra was the “main facilitator” in a pornographic content case. He along with other accused exploited young women combating in the movie industry by filming them in vulgar ways. Mumbai Police claimed in a supplementary charge-sheet documented in a court on Wednesday. Crime branch of Mumbai submitted 1500-page charge-sheet against Kundra and his partner Ryan Thorpe before a magistrate court.
Police claimed Yash Thakur, a resident of Singapore, and London-based Pardeep Bakshi accused in the chargesheet. The crime branch (in April) had filed the first chargesheet in the case against nine persons.
In the comprehensive document, investigation conducted by the property cell of the crime branch has revealed that Kundra was the “main facilitator” in the porn films instance.
Eventually, Kundra surfaced after technical analysis, witnesses’ statements and documents confiscated from his office.
Kundra and Thorpe, took advantage of economically weak young struggling women in the film industry and made vulgar movies with them.
They uploaded the porn videos on various websites as well as mobile apps.
The chargesheet claimed that these videos were sold through subscriptions and Kundra “illegally” earned millions from them. Additionally, women victims were cheated – they were either given nominal compensation or paid nothing at times.
Police asserted Kundra and Thorpe demolished WhatsApp chats and emails from their mobile phones and laptops containing important evidence in the case.
Police charged them under sections of the IPC related to sexual harassment and cheating. As well provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Kundra and Thorpe are under judicial custody. Their bail applications are pending before a Mumbai sessions court.
