NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Pushkar Singh Dhami has been selected as the following Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. The two-time MLA is going to be nominated for the post in the legislature meeting on Saturday.
Pushkar Singh Dhami is a member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from the Khatima constituency in the Udham Singh Nagar region.
The Legislative Party meet occurred at the State Headquarters in Dehradun to select the new Uttarakhand Chief Minister in the presence of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and other BJP leaders.
On Friday, Tirath Singh Rawat had submitted his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya citing that there could be a ‘constitutional emergency’.
He had chaired the post for under four months when Trivendra Singh Rawat was unceremoniously replaced from the post.
