Accused militants murdered a policeman, his spouse and daughter in Pulwama’s Awantipora locale on Sunday night.
The cops said militants encroached the house of Special Police Officer (SPO) Fayaz Ahmad at Hariparigam region of Awantipora and fired critical shots on Sunday night.
“In the firing, Ahmad along with his Mrs, Raja Bano, and daughter, Rafia Jan, received bullet shots. Later, the couple surrendered to their injuries in the hospital,” the police said.
Jan, aged 24, also capitulated to her injuries on Monday morning in a Srinagar hospital.
Before this month, militants terminated two off-duty policemen in Srinagar in two separate assaults, including an inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department.
“I strongly denounce the brutal terrorist strike on SPO Ahmad and his family at Awantipora. This is an act of cowardice and criminals of savagery will be brought to justice very soon,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said.
