After a strong opposition from the PMO, the statue of PM Modi in a temple dedicated to him by a BJP worker in Pune, Maharashtra was removed overnight.
Mayur Munde, a 37-year-old BJP worker and a follower of PM Modi, built the temple in Aundh, Pune for 1.60,000 rupees. Jaipur red marble is used to build idols and temples. Munde, who is related to real estate, said: “I think a temple should be built for the people who built the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. So I decided to build this temple on my site.”
In a discussion with a local reporter In, Munde also mentioned the Prime Minister’s move regarding the triple talaq. The dissolution of Article 370 of Kashmir was the reason for the construction of the temple. The temple also wrote a poem about Prime Minister Modi.
After the news reached the media, the PMO strongly opposed the temple. When people passed by on Thursday morning, the statue of the Prime Minister was gone. The idol, which was replaced on Wednesday night, now lives in a nearby BJP leader’s house.
Municipal elections will be held in Pune early next year. With this in mind, NCP staff declared that they would arrive at the temple on Thursday morning and offer “bhog” there. Before the political escalation on this topic, the statue was replaced.
