PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of university at Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. University is named after Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh who was a Jat king and former member of the Lok Sabha. PM will visit the exhibition models of the UP’s Defence Industrial Corridor and Raja Mahendra Partap Singh State University on Tuesday, September 14.
UP government will build the university in remembrance of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh. He was a freedom fighter and an educationist cum social reformer. It will provide affiliations to 395 colleges of the Aligarh division.
CM Yogi Adityanath and UP Governor Anandiben Patel will be present at the event. CM visited Lodha to oversee the preparations for the event. 92 acres of land belonging to the Lodha and Musepur Kareem Jarouli villages at Aligarh’s Kol tehsil will get utilized for the university.
About the Defence Industrial Corridor:
PM Modi announced the defence industrial corridor project whilst inaugurating UP Investors Summit on 21st Feb 2018. Six nodes are the corridor, namely- Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Jhansi and Lucknow. Land for the corridor was allotted to 19 firms who will invest ₹ 12,450 million in the project.
Visiting the exhibition model of defence industrial corridor is one of the agendas of PM’s visit to Aligarh. According to the PMO, the defence industrial corridor in UP will help make India self-reliant in the field of defence production.
