Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as the Punjab Congress Chief a few minutes ago. The news came in days after former CM Amarinder Singh categorized Navjot Singh Sidhu as “incompetent” and “ant-national”.
He posted his formal resignation letter on twitter. The letter read “The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner. I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. I will continue to serve the Congress”. INC President Sonia Gandhi signed as the recipient of the letter.
Sidhu’s resignation ahead of the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections has shocked the Congress leadership. With two important leaders, namely Sidhu and Amarinder Singh quitting so close to the elections, the Punjab Congress seems to be in a situation of turmoil.
Navjot Singh Sidhu’s decision to resign almost coincided with Amarinder Singh’s New Delhi visit. The Former CM of Punjab will hold a series of meetings with BJP leaders Amit Shah and JP Nadda.

According to Captain Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu shares friendly realtions with Pakistan PM Imran Khan. He also said that Sidhu can pose threats to the states as well as the nations security if appointed the CM of Punjab.
Amarinder Singh declared Sidhu incompetent. He said that the latter couldn’t even run the ministry assigned to him.
