New Delhi: At least 12 ministers, including bigshots like Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar, withdrew from the Narendra Modi Cabinet on Wednesday (July 7) while 43 new ministers were sworn-in. After the practice, the Central government has 30 Cabinet ministers, two Ministers of State with independent charges and 45 MoSes.
The newly-constituted Ministry of Cooperation will be under the additional charge of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The new ministry is being formed for realising the imagination of ‘sahakar se samriddhi’ (prosperity through cooperation). This ministry objected to furnishing a separate administrative, legal and policy framework for boosting the cooperative movement in the nation. It will work to redevelop processes for ‘ease of doing business’ for cooperatives and enable the evolution of multi-state cooperatives (MSCS).
