The post-mortem reports of the late Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad president Narendra Giri that came on Wednesday revealed that the seer died due to asphyxia by hanging. The autopsy reports consolidate the theory of the Mahant Giri dying by suicide.
They arrested Mahant Giri’s disciples Anand Giri. Bade Hanuman Temple priest Adya Prasad Tiwari on charges of abetment to suicide. Because of the 14-page suicide note left behind Mahant Giri which mentioned these two allegedly forcing him to the verge of killing himself. They are sent to 14 days of judicial custody to be produced in the Prayagraj Court.
They found Mahant Narendra Giri’s body hanging from the ceiling of his room at Shri Math Baghambari Gaddi. Prayagraj, on Monday. The Prayagraj police with the help of Uttarakhand police was able to sack Anand Giri in Haridwar. Also, they arrested Tiwari along with his son by Prayagraj police.
A panel of five doctors did the autopsy at SRN hospital who said that there were no external injury marks. Mahant’s body and thus further strengthens the suicide theory of the police.
“The post-mortem examination report has confirmed V mark on the neck of the Mahant Giri which is caused by hanging,”. The source said.
They said the doctors to preserve the viscera for the chemical analysis. It is usual in these cases to rule out any other possibility of the cause of death.
The preliminary examination of the scene did not suggest any signs of struggle on the part of the Mahant.
They sent the suicide note for forensic analysis to further clear the uncertainty and suspicion over Mahant Giri’s death. They also sent the nylon string used to allegedly hang himself for forensic examination. The police are also questioning the Y-security that was provided to the Mahant Giri. However, the police have still not declared this to be a case of suicide by saying that the investigation is still ongoing.
