Gorakhpur (UP), August 4: During a joint raid by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and local police, illegal drugs worth approximately Rs 686 million were found on Wednesday in a warehouse in a village near the border with IndoNepal in the Maharajganj district. The official said. At a joint press conference, Maharajganj Magistrate Ujjawal Kumar, Police Chief Pradeep Gupta and SSB Commander Manoj Kumar claimed that the warehouse in Jamui Kala village under Thoothibari Police Station belonged to an arrested Ramesh Kumar Gupta ( 55 years).
Police are looking for another defendant identified as Govind Gupta. The illicit drugs were stored in a warehouse at Gupta’s residence and were supposed to be shipped to Nepal. The police have registered the case in accordance with the “Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances”, the “Copyright Law” and the relevant parts of the IPC.
Police seized 104 injections, 18,782 syrup vials, 3,13,384 capsules, 1,24,897 pills, and 1,34,460 printed price tags from the warehouse. This is a great success in the fight against illicit drug trafficking in the region and the work done by the entire team is commendable. During the investigation, it was discovered that the gang had shipped drugs to Nepal. Kumar said the police are investigating the case and will crack down on the criminals.
