CM Mamata Banerjee, having “abused” by WB BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Sunday asserted central resources, now wants to meet PM Narendra Modi “to beg for funds with folded hands”. His comments, thus, drew flak from the ruling party, which stated that Ghosh should be having a “better understanding of the federal system”, under which a chief of the state can always meet the PM.
Ghosh, while speaking to reporters, also asserted that TMC members have drained money from state coffers and left it bankrupt. “Mamata has abused the funds that were assigned by the Centre and now Mamata wants to meet the PM to urge for more with folded hands as the state has gone virtually bankrupt,” the senior BJP leader said when inquired about Banerjee’s planned visit to the national capital.
West Bengal is facing a financial shortage due to large-scale corruption on the part of the Mamata Banerjee government, Ghosh mentioned.
He added that given the state’s financial situation and growing factionalism within the TMC camp, Mamata Didi realized that she would not be able to run the state long before the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls.
The TMC spokesman, Kyushu Ghosh, who represented the BJP president, said he was known for ignorant comments.
“Does he understand the federal configuration of a place where the state head can always meet in the afternoon? Dilip needs to verify the fact … Bengal is more than the TMC rule that we have made profitable. Your Minister of State and TMC MLA Chandrima Bhattacharya knew if CM visited the Ear of the BJP leader.
Mamata Banerjee is Friday in the last week of July, I told the reporter who had time to meet during the scheduled visits of Delhi, but she did not specify a date .
