Two terrorists were shot down by the Indian Army after an infiltration execution was marred. The attack occurred at the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army informed that in the early hours of Monday a terrorist made an attempt to enter the Indian territory in the Poonch province.
“Alert Army troops detected the infiltration bid by effective use of the integrated surveillance grid. On being challenged by the Army troops, there ensued a fierce firefight with the terrorist in which one terrorist was neutralised, and his body along with an AK-47 rifle has been recovered.” an official informed.
The proactive measures taken by the Indian Army displays the intolerance India has towards terrorism. Since the month of June, India has seen an increase in terrorist activities and infiltration trials in the border areas. This has prompted the Indian Government to tighten security measures. Officials still believe that terror base camps are still active throughout the border areas.
