Per the Health department India recorded 18,346 new COVID-19 cases, the minimum in 209 days. With this, the total tally of coronavirus diseases in the country has escalated to 3,38,53,048. Also the active count has now dropped to 2,52,902, the lowest in 201 days, the Union Health Ministry stated.
The daily rise in new coronavirus disease remained below 30,000 for 11 consecutive days now. A decrease of 11,556 cases enlisted in the active COVID-19 caseload in a spell of 24 hours.
The death toll, on the other hand, climbed 4,49,260 with 263 new fatalities.
72,51,419 vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours. The country’s COVID-19 immunization coverage passed the landmark of 91 crores.
70% adult populace administered first dose
As per Mansukh Mandaviya 70 % of India’s adult population has administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. As a result, nearly 25 % of the adult population fully vaccinated in the country.
In September, the average daily immunization in India enlisted at 79.08 lakh per day.
Mass gatherings aggravate possible third COVID-19 wave
Emphasizing on responsible travel, experts warned that a rise in population density can surge the virus. Worsening an anticipated third wave scenario in selected states. Researchers stated a holiday period can amplify a possible third wave peak by up to 103 % and cumulative incidence in that wave by 43 %.
