India Covid cases newly recorded 35,662 and 281 deaths in the last 24 hours. Counting the total caseload to 3,34,17,390 and mortality toll to 4,44,529,as data released by the Health department.
India also detailed 33,798 recoveries in the last 24 hours, enhancing recoveries to 3,26,32,222 and the active caseload now reached 3,40,639. Escalation of 1,583 cases reported in the active COVID-19 caseload.
Additionally, India on Friday made a new world record of monitoring the highest number of COVID-19 inoculations in a day. India procured the milestones of administering over 2.50 crores vaccines under the “Vaccine Sewa” drive to mark 71st birthday of PM Modi. As per the data, India’s total number of vaccination on the day reached 2,50,10,390 by midnight.
Total 55,07,80,273 units have tested up to September 17th for COVID-19. Amidst, 14,48,833 samples tested on Friday.
Meanwhile, WHO’s approval for the emergency use authorisation (EUA) to Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin is delayed till October 5. Per WHO, the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) will be meeting on October 5 to grant EUA to Covaxin.
