New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India will hear the plea following the reschedule of the ICAI CA 2021 examination today. The supplication, documented by Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, states that there should be at least one ICAI CA exam centre in every region of the country. The prayer further seeks an extra endeavor for students approaching for the intermediate and final exams under the old syllabus. There should be “at the minimum one examination centre in every region in India” and the exam should be held in a staggered behaviour, the supplication mentioned.
Meanwhile, more than 6,000 Chartered Accountancy (CA) students have also notified Prime Minister Narendra Modi following rescheduling of the future CA exams, in view of the COVID-19 situation in the nation.
A three-judge Bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Aniruddha Bose will be hearing the case today at 10:30 am.
Though the prayer also follows a withdrawal option for students, ICAI has already declared and provisioned a drop out option for students enlisted to take the future July examination cycle.
The prayer says there should be additional examination centres for those centres which are likely to go into the containment area during the examination.
If the administration cannot assure abidance to the COVID-19 protocols, the exams programmed from July 6 should be rescheduled to a later period when the COVID-19 situation regularises, it added.
While CA foundation exams will start on July 24 and CA Inter exams will continue between July 6 and 20, CA Final exams are planned for July 5 to 19. Admit cards for these exams have been issued.
