New Delhi: In a major seizure, heroin worth an estimated Rs 126 crore has been seized from two South African men at the international airport here as they were endeavoring to smuggle it into the nation, according to an official article on Monday. The two accused were captured on Saturday upon their arrival from Johannesburg via Doha.
“On comprehensive personal and baggage search of the traveller, off-white colour powder/granules, detected to be heroin, weighing 8 kg was rescued from one passenger and 10 kg was rescued from another,” said the articulation released by the custom office. Both of the defamed were realized to be part of a syndicate, it said.
It mentioned that the off-white colour powder/granules, weighing 18 in total and estimated to be priced at Rs 126 crore, were skilfully hidden inside their checked-in trolley bags.
Both the men have been seized and a case of smuggling has been documented against them, a customs officer said.
