The Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has decided to keep the home ministry with himself. Kanubhai Desai has been given the finance portfolio. However, in the latest update, there will be no deputy Chief Minister in the New Cabinet.
Soon after 24 new ministers took oath on Thursday, the new CM of Gujarat held the first meeting for his new cabinet. Apart from the Home Ministry, the Chief Minister also holds charge of the General Administration Department, Mines and Minerals, Capital Projects, Urban Housing and Narmada and Ports and Urban Development.
As per the reports, out of the 24 MLAs who took oath on Thursday, 21 are first-time ministers. Bhupendra Patel is also a first time minister.

He was nominated as the Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 2018. He held the sports ministry in the Rupani government. Trivedi, 67, won from the Raopura seat in the Vadodra district. He also held the cases related to the 2002 post-Godhra riots.
Jitu Vaghani was the president of Gujarat BJP until last year before CR Paatil took over. He entered politics in 2007 but he was defeated by the senior Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil in Bhavnagar (West). He is a first-time minister.
He is a two-time MLA from Visnagar in Mehsana district. He is the chairman of APMC at Mehsana and also served as the BJP’s Mehsana district President.
He was elected from the Surat (West) Assembly constituency in the 2013 by-election after the sitting MLA Kishor Vankawala died. The first time minister also had a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over his comments regarding the “Modi” surname during the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign.
Raghavji Patel is a third-time MLA was in the Congress and then switched side after voting against the Congress Rajya Sabha candidate, late Ahmed Patel in 2018. His victory as a BJP candidate in the 2019 by-election was his third as an MLA from the seat.
Limbdi MLA Kiritsinh Rana has previously served as the Minister of Animal Husbandry and Forest and Environment in two BJP governments.
He is the MLA from the Scheduled Tribe-reserved Gandevi Assembly constituency in Navsari district.
He is the MLA from the Scheduled Cast-reserved Asarwa Assembly constituency of Ahmedabad. Parmar is a first time MLA and rose from being a booth-level worker and is now a cabinet minister.
He is a BJP MLA from the Mahemdavad constituency. Chauhan is the first time MLA and is one of the youngest faces of the Bhupendra Patel government.
Desai is a two-time MLA from Pardi in Valsad district. He has been allocated the finance portfolio.
Sanghavi is also a two-times MLA from Majura in Surat city. He also into diamond jewellery and was the youngest general secretary of the Gujarat BJP when he held the post.
Merja is the BJP MLA from the Morbi Assembly constituency and was earlier in the Congress.
He is a tribal community from the Valsad district and won thrice from the Kaprada Assembly seat. He resigned from Congress 2020 ahead of the Rajya Sabha election.
Vakil is the MLA from the Scheduled Caste-reserved Vadodara City Assembly constituency. She is a prominent women faces in the Cabinet and is a first time minister.
He is the MLA from the Nikol Assembly constituency in Ahmedabad where he won twice.
