New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday (July 10, 2021) said that the populace of the union territory have full belief in the delimitation commission. In an exclusive meeting with Zee News, Sinha said that the nation and the populace of Jammu and Kashmir believe that the delimitation commission will operate as per its constitutional limits.
Sinha stated that the delimitation commission will choose the dates of the polls. He further briefed that the commission ended their four-day tour to the union territory on Friday and met individuals of the different political parties and spectrums.
He also recollected how PM Modi on August 15 2020 had clarified that Jammu and Kashmir will have the assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir authority has nominated nodal officers, one in each of 20 regions, to assist the Delimitation Commission reshuffle new constituencies in the next nine months.
Earlier on June 24, PM Narendra Modi had chaired a meeting with political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir and stated that it was a crucial step in the success towards a developed and progressive region. Sinha was also part of the crucial meeting.
