Maharashtra(Hingoli): On 22nd of August 2021, at 20:07 Indian Standard Time, Hingoli region of Maharashtra received the tremors of an earthquake that measured 3.4 on the Richter scale. According to a tweet from The National Center of Seismology, the precise co-ordinates of the affected area are, Latitude: 19.43 & Longitude: 77.18, Depth: 10 km. The earthquake lasted a few seconds and was rated 3rd, i.e., Slight in terms of severity. The earthquake was not severe enough to claim any lives or bring about any drastic damages to the affected regions.
In the past 30 days, India has received a total of 146 quakes out of which, 47 measured between 3.0 to 4.0 on the Richter scale, just like the one mentioned in this article.
Apart from that, India has also received 2 earthquakes of magnitude 2.0 and below, which is not generally felt by the people living in the region.
