The same incident took place on Sunday in two different locations of the country, one in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi. In total taking 4 lives. According to the eyewitnesses and people nearby, the explosion was so loud that the whole area was quaked by the noise.
On Sunday, the two separate explosion incidents took 4 lives and left 10 others seriously injured. The Chhindwara incident occurred at a small pond near Subash Nagar. The balloon seller Sheikh Ibrahim (70) died on the spot, Tajuddin Ansari (40) died on the way to the hospital while his son, his wife and Suresh Yadav are undergoing treatment in the district hospital, Additional Superintendent of Police ASP, Sanjeev Uike said. Nakul Nath, Member of Parliament expressed his grief over the sad incident and prayed for speedy recovery to the injured on twitter.
The explosion in Varanasi’s Ramnagar area took lives of Geeta Devi (40) and Lalla (30), the injured were rushed to nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment. The police issued a statement and said, “Those who are undergoing treatment at the trauma centre are out of danger.” The police reached the spot after the explosion and started investigating but they are yet to issue an official statement.
The reason for explosion was stated to be caused from the cylinder used to fill up balloons, usually the gas being hydrogen or helium as they are light in nature which helps the balloon float. Hydrogen is highly flammable in nature whereas helium is an inert gas.
