COVID19 , India enlisted 41,157 new cases, active 422,000. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated on Sunday (July 18, 2021) that India had recorded 41,157 new cases of COVID19 in the last 24 hours, and that the country’s active number is currently 4,22,660. The Ministry also reported that active infections now represent 1.36% of all cases.
The daily positive rate is at 2.13% and the weekly positive rate is 2.08%.
The country also enlisted 518 coronavirus-related deaths and 42,004 recoveries from Saturday to Sunday morning. So far, the mortality toll has surged to 4,13,609 and the total number of recoveries has risen to 3,02,69,796.
At the same time, the head of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr. Samiran Panda, warned that the third wave of COVID19 could hit the country in late August. He also warned states that had witnessed the least impact from the first two waves of COVID19, warning that if restrictions are not maintained, they may experience a severe third wave.
Dr. Panda said: “Each state should check for epidemics and make telephone inquiries about the COVID19 situation there. The first and second waves of COVID19 in some states have little impact. If restrictions are not maintained now, these states may be subject to the first wave. Three waves of severe impact. “
Early Saturday, the US Department of Health declared that COVID19 infection will make people more susceptible to active tuberculosis. The official statement came following reports of an increase in tuberculosis cases among coronavirus-infected patients.
