“No Room For Complacency”, Says Central Government
In a recently released statement by the Central government, they said that with the rising cases, there can be “no room for complacency”. The government statement also noted that they have already advised the states to redesign the primary care and health infrastructure in rural areas.
This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting during the day to review the Covid 19 situation across the country. This is amidst the talks of the third wave of the virus sweeping across the country in October. During the meeting, he reviewed the bed capacity for pediatric care and facilities. In the meeting, Modi underscored the need to rapidly augment the entire ecosystem to ensure that there is no shortage of medical oxygen supply, oxygen cylinders and PSA plants.
