India today added 42,766 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, marginally lesser than yesterday’s 43,393 cases. Kerala leads the states with the most number of cases in a day. The nation has so far detailed 3,07,95,716 cases and 4,07,145 deaths.
The top 10 revises on coronavirus in India:
1. The daily positivity rate – number of positive cases marked per 100 – is 2.19 percent, less than 3 per cent for 19 consecutive days. Improvement rate stands at 97.20 per cent.
2.From 911 Covid demises yesterday, the number today has climbed up to 1,206. Total deceased in the country due to Covid are at 4,07,145.
3.Kerala with 13,563 new Covid cases drives the states in most number of contamination over a 24-hour period. It is followed by Maharashtra (8,992), Tamil Nadu (3,039), Karnataka (2,290).
4.The centre has alerted against leniency in following Covid-appropriate behaviour. With particular reference to disquieting visuals from the past few days of large gatherings at popular holiday and tourist spots. The Health Ministry has described the condition as “cause for concern”,. He reminded people the virus expands vigorously in congested places.
5.The catastrophe second wave of Covid in March April is in existence, the government has vigiled, requesting people to keep following precautions like ignoring crowds and wearing masks. Most of the cases now are being detailed from Maharashtra and Kerala.
6.Two cases of the highly contractible Kappa variant of COVID-19 have been spotted in Uttar Pradesh through the genome sequencing of samples, the state government said Friday. The Kappa variant has been distinguished by WHO as a Variant of Interest. A top state official told cases of this variant were detected in the state earlier as well.
7.The Delhi government, in expectation of a possible third wave of virus, has prepared a Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). To manage a surge in cases in the coming weeks.
8.The country’s overall immunization crisis is 54 per cent with Bihar, Rajasthan and West Bengal. Having the highest vaccination shortfall, according to a review of publicly available testimony.
9.At least 90 per cent of samples in Tripura that were sent for genome sequencing have been detected to be carrying the highly contractible Delta Plus variant, said a top state official. Tripura – which is the first northeastern state to reveal the new strain – now has 138 cases of the fatal and highly contagious variant of COVID-19.
10.The Haryana government has given a nod to resume offline classes in both government and private schools in the state. Offline classes will restart for students of Classes 9-12 from July 16. For Classes 6-8, the offline classes will restart from July 23.
