Bihar CM Nitish Kumar stated that the state has huge potential for tourism and the management is promoting eco-tourism. The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department of the state authority gave a video presentation of the draft eco-tourism policy before the CM.
Kumar said, the Bihar government is prepared to protect the environment. The eco-tourism strategy will also enhance awareness among people about protecting the environment and animals and conservation of nature.
Kumar planned eco-tourism to be developed in Valmiki Nagar in West Champaran district.
Valmiki Nagar is a remarkable tourist location where a dam has been erected on the river Gandak. There is a national park and tiger reserve near the area where Maharshi Valmiki, the author of the Ramayana, is believed to have spent some years.
The management will soon erect a convention centre in Valmiki Nagar, the chief minister mentioned.
