Bank holidays in the country to be followed for three consecutive days from Sunday, September 19. According to RBI, banks will remain inoperative for 12 days in total in this September 2021.
Out of 12 holidays, seven bank holidays are due to special regional events or festivals. Other six-day holidays include weekend offs.
Out of 12 days of holiday, thee consecutive banking holidays are starting from September 19 onward.
On September 19, banks will not operate because of Sunday. Also, they will remain shut on September 20 on account of the local festival Indrajatra. Banks shut in Gangtok on September 20 and other banks in the country will operate on Monday.
On September 21, banks will remain closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on the occasion of Narayana Guru Samadhi Day.
Bank users in these states should be aware of the upcoming banking holidays before approaching bank.
