Ex Ips officer Amitabh Thakur decided to float a new political party with the support of his followers before UP elections.
The new name of his new organization is Adhikar Sena. A team is going to work for the mission and structure of his party.The government had issued an order for Thakur’s premature retirement on March 23 2021. Reason is, he is unfit to be retained for his remaining tenure of his service.
Thakur’s wife Nutan Thakur confirmed that he would be contesting the forthcoming assembly polls against CM Yogi Adityanath. According to Mrs. Thakur, Adityanath took many undemocratic, improper, suppressive, harassing and discriminatory actions during his office as chief minister.
An officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, his retirement is in 2028. In 2017, Thakur prayed to the Centre to amend his cadre state.
Thakur was suspended on July 13, 2015, because he accused Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav of threatening him. A vigilance investigation was also initiated against him.
The Lucknow Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal stayed his suspension in April 2016. The bench instructed his reinstatement with full salary with effect from October 11, 2015.
