According to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the total number of COVID-19 antibodies administered so far crossed the 60-crore mark on Wednesday. India crossed the 60 crore vaccination mark under PM @NarendraModi ji’s #SabkoVaccineMuftVaccine drive.
India took 85 days to reach 10 crore. It crossed the 20-crore mark in 45 days and 29 more days to reach 30 crore. India took 24 days to reach 40 crore from 30 crore and then 20 more days to surpass 50 crore immunizations on August 6. It took 19 more days to exceed the 60-crore mark.
The nationwide immunization drive was implemented on January 16 with healthcare workers (HCWs) getting jab in the first phase. From February 2 the vaccination of frontline workers (FLWs) commenced. The following stage of COVID-19 immunization commenced from March 1 for individuals crossed 60 years of age and those aged 45 and above with specified comorbid situation.
India initiated vaccination for all individuals ranging between 45 years from April 1. The government then determined to elongate its vaccination drive by permitting everyone above 18 to be inoculated from May 1.
