A Delhi Police constable was sacked from his service for supposedly being engaged in organised crime, officials said on Thursday. The constable, posted at Paharganj police station, countered the action on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (central) Jasmeet Singh sacked constable Amit after he was found indulging in the underground world. A senior police officer said the measures were implemented against Amit following a departmental probe. The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Paharganj police station was also sent to district lines.
A firing event was reported on Saturday, day before the Independence Day, in Paharganj location between two groups over gambling.
