Nashik: The Nashik District Hospital reported on Friday that as many as 30 people in Nashik, Maharashtra were infected with the Delta variant of COVID19.
Thirty people in Nashik were infected with the Delta variant. 28 patients were from rural areas. Two patients were from Gangapur and Sadique Nagar. Several patients were from Sinnar, Yeola, Nandgaon, Niphad, etc. “Nashik District Hospital Surgeon Dr. Kishore Shrinivas said.
He also added that the samples were sent to Pune for genome sequencing, after which all samples tested positive for Delta variants.

Delta variant is a variant B.1.617.2 of the COVID19 virus first discovered in India. It is believed that it caused a brutal second wave of pandemics and overwhelmed the country’s medical system.
