A squad of Naxals reportedly set 11 tractors and two JCB machines engaged in road development work in the Gadchiroli province of Maharashtra on fire. Cops disclosed on Saturday.
The matter occured at Irapnagar village in Bhamragadh tehsil around 2 pm on Friday. At the same time they also destroyed one Poclain machine. A senior police official stated.
“Around 40 to 50 Naxals involved in the incident. They are Dalam and militia members,” he stated.
The charred vehicles and other machinery possessed by different contractors concerned in the road construction work.
As per the official, police lodged an offense and initiated aprobe.
Naxal kill police informer in Chhattisgarh
In a different incident, Naxals reportedly murdered a 45-year-old police informer. Also destroyed three vehicles involved in road development work in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Bijapur province. Police said on Saturday.
In a different event, Naxals kindled three vehicles involved in road construction work at Cherkanti Patelpara village under Bijapur police station jurisdiction on Friday, the official said.
The ultras kindled a truck, a JCB machine and another heavy vehicle. It used in the construction work under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
