    ISL Final LIVE: Chance wasted!

Rahul Bheke has made a huge miss. Chhangte did a fine job to pass the ball from the right flank to the centre. Bheke, who was standing near the goal post, was surrounded by a couple of Mohun Bagan Super Giant players and thus found it hard to hit the ball on the target.

You got to feel for Mumbai City FC. They attacked continuously but still remained goalless, maybe the lack of execution. Cummings capitalized on the mistake to put Mohun Bagan Super Giant right on top despite being under the pump for maximum portion of the first half. Anyway, this is not the end and both teams have the second half as well.

  • May04202420:17 (IST)

    ISL Final LIVE: GOAL!!!

Mohun Bagan have broken the deadlock. Would you believe it? Jason Cummings has done the job for them. Petratos took a shot and that was saved from Phurba. Given the save was not clean, the ball deflected and gave Cummings a chance and the player comfortably put it into the post.

ISL Final LIVE: That was too close for Mumbai City!

ISL Final LIVE: 5th corner for MBFC

Tangri managed to stop Chhangte somehow on the right flank but he concedes a corner to Mumbai City FC in the process. That is the 5th corner for MBFC in the game. It goes wasted as Chhangte hits it well out of the box. Mohun Bagan take a sigh of relief.

ISL Final LIVE: Mumbai City on the attack

Rahul Bheke tried to take a shot from the right flank but that hits the Mohun Bagan Super Giant player and Mumbai City FC eventually lose the ball possession. • May04202417:44 (IST)

MBSG and MCFC LIVE: What is MBFC’s strategy for the game?

Asked about this strategy, Habas said: “To finish it in 45 minutes.” “Obviously we don’t want to go to extra team. It’s hot out there so better to finish it in 90 minutes.” The 66-year-old, who has two ISL titles, one Winners Shield making him the most successful coach of the top-tier league, futher said he’s in the fag-end of his career.

  • May04202417:14 (IST)

MBSG and MCFC LIVE: Here’s what Habas said –

“Statistics have no relevance. We have to continue playing well and complete the circle,” 66-year-old Spanish tactician Antonio Lopez Habas said in the pre-match media interaction. Three years back, Mohun Bagan had squandered a 1-0 lead to suffer a 1-2 defeat against the same team at the ISL final held in Margao, which was played behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But revenge is not on Habas’ minds. “I’m not about revenge; that’s stuff you see in movies or with the mafia. It’s just another game against tough opponents, and it’s going to be a great show for the ISL,” Habas said.

  • May04202416:42 (IST)

MBSG and MCFC LIVE: Mohun Bagan eye massive feat

As per noted football statistician Hari Prasad Chattopadhyay, the last time Mohun Bagan won three titles or more was more than 23 years back when they had won the erstwhile National Football League (NFL), Federation Cup, Calcutta Premier Division League, Sikkim Gold Cup and Bordoloi Trophy. The coach was India captain Sunil Chhetri’s father-in-law Subroto Bhattacharyya. Mumbai City FC have done it before in 2020-21 and the stage will be set for Mohun Bagan to follow suit.

  • May04202416:14 (IST)
