Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Punjab Kings by 60 runs in their IPL 2024 match in Dharamsala on Thursday. Star batter Virat Kohli smashed 92 runs off 47 balls as RCB posted 241 for 7 in 20 overs after being invited to bat first. In reply, Punjab Kings were all out for 181 in 17 overs. Rilee Rossouw hit 61 in 27 balls, while Shashank Singh scored 37 in 19 balls. Mohammed Siraj returned figures of 3 for 43 for RCB, while Swapnil Singh, Lockie Ferguson and Karn Sharma picked two wickets apiece.

Earlier, in-form opener Kohli got off to flying start before Rajat Patidar (55 off 23 balls) joined him to take the PBKS bowlers to the cleaners. Cameron Green contributed a breezy 46 off 27 balls.

The win helped RCB keep their slim playoff hopes alive with 10 points to their credit from 12 matches. To make it to the final four, RCB need to win their remaining two games and hope for favourable results from other matches.

RCB’s win meant that PBKS slipped to the ninth position with Mumbai Indians rising to the 8th spot.
