Following the assumption of power by Taliban over Afghanistan, the US of A has worked diligently to evacuate and help their army personals, their citizens, and other foreign nationals stuck in Afghanistan. On Monday, 30th of August, the US is planning to hold a virtual meeting with other countries to discuss the situation. “On Monday, August 30, 2021. The United States will hold a virtual meeting with key partners on Afghanistan, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, The United Kingdom, Turkey, Qatar, The European Union, and NATO. The participants will discuss an aligned approach for the days and weeks ahead,” the State Department’s official statement read.
According to State Department Spokesperson, Ned Price, Antony J. Blinken had discussed the same with China previously. Both the nations addressed the issue of safe passage of Afghans and foreign nationals out of Taliban ruled Afghanistan. The State Department also issued another statement which read “Later in the afternoon (30th August 2021, Monday) Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will deliver on our efforts since August 14 and Discuss the way forward,”.
President Joe Biden and the members of his cabinet concerned with the issue of Afghanistan have worked day in and day out to hold successful evacuations. Now, with them discussing further approach with other powerful countries, we can hope for a positive outcome for Afghanistan in the coming days.
