The US has “completely bent down” to the Taliban and deserted its allies in Afghanistan, Indian-American politician and ex-US delegate to the UN’s Nikki Haley said Sunday. They’re not cooperating with the Taliban. They’ve completely capitulated to the Taliban. They sacrificed Bagram Air Force Base, which was a major NATO hub. They capitulated $85 billion worth of equipment and weapons that we should have taken out of there, Haley told CBS News in a meeting. She condemned the Biden Administration’s termination policy from Afghanistan.
“They have capitulated the American people and actually retracted our army before they withdrew the American people. They have deserted our Afghan associates who kept people like my husband safe while they were overseas posted. So, no, there was no compromise. This was an intact surrender and an embarrassing failure, she mentioned.
Haley, who is seen as a 2024 official aspirant, has been a criticizer of the Afghan policies of the Biden Administration. “This is an incredible scenario, where literally the Taliban has our Americans held as detainees. It’s dreadful. And we have to assure that we are working with our partners who literally won’t trust us at this point and think we’ve lost our minds. We have to find a way to get our Americans out and to get our partners out,” she said.
Haley stated that under four years of Trump, Afghanistan was secured. “We made confirm that we kept terrorism away and that we came from a position of strength. What’s occurred in the seven months of Biden is, we’ve completely bent down and we’ve degraded in the eyes of the world. The thing is, there are times where you have to compromise with the demon, but you negotiate with the devil from a point of strength, you don’t do it from a point of weakness,” she mentioned. “We literally have no attachment right now with the Taliban. All we’re going to watch them do is, they’re going to procure time and act like they’re going to be nice until August 31, and then all of those ladies, all of those girls, everything is going to backtrack to the way it existed,” she said.
Presi Biden had before said the US was bound to remove every American even if that means stretching the deadline for a total termination from Afghanistan beyond 31. Conveying her apprehension on Afghanistan, Haley said, “You’re going to have sex slaves. You’re going to have child marriages. You’re going to have kids that are — girls that are no longer permitted in school. You’re going to have our Americans. Any that are there will be hazardous. And all of our Afghan allies will be slaughtered if we don’t do something.
“This is significant. The Biden authority needs to backtrack and stretch that August 31 deadline and make sure that the Taliban knows they’ve got to allow individuals into the airport. We’ve got to get our Americans out. We’ve got to stay true to those Afghan associates that we made commitments to. We have got to make sure we do this in a very powerful way going forward,” Haley mentioned.
